Thanks for visiting my little corner of Cyberspace.
I created this site quite a few years ago to experiment with Web design and technology, and
to share a few things which I hope will be of interest. I'm doing this in
my "spare time," so developments on this site will be sporadic
at best. The boxy layout and "web-safe" colour pallet
(designed to work with 256-colour displays) look quite dated and
amateurish now; maybe I'll bring the design into the 21st century
one of these days. But meanwhile, please enjoy my rather random collection of
offerings:
-
Hawaii Photo Gallery is a collection of photos from two trips
that my wife and I took to Hawaii (our honeymoon and a return visit
a few years later). Beautiful set of islands--hope we can go
there again one of these days.
-
Peg Solitaire is a Javascript-based implementation (one
of many on the Web) of the popular and challenging puzzle. Give it a try and
have your name added to the winner's list if you succeed.
-
Arithme-Click is a matching game to help kids learn and
practice arithmetic facts: addition, subtraction, multiplication and
division. I created it for my daughter and her 4th grade class awhile
back. (Also an opportunity for me to experiment with some
"dynamic HTML.") If you are learning your arithmetic
facts or just want to brush up, give it a try.
A bit about me ... I'm a native of
Tallahassee, Florida (U.S.A.), but have called Canada my
home for over 30 years. (Yes, some people think I'm crazy, but I like it up here in
the Great White North.) I live with my wife and 11-year-old daughter in a woodsy neighborhood
in Ottawa, the
capital of Canada. I left a job with a systems consulting company in
2000 to become a stay-at-home dad, which keeps me pretty busy. Along with family activities, my hobbies
are visual arts, gardening and of course the Web.
And this page is about as close as I want to come to
starting a blog...
